Between the Brandenburg Gate and Potsdam Square there is a monument dedicated to the murdered Jews of Europe. It is also called the Holocaust Memorial. It was built from 2003 and 2005 on the suggestion of New York architect Peter Eisenman. Under the surface of 2711 simulated grave markers of differently hights there is a museum with information about the Holocaust. It can be visited free of charge.
